In November 2006 a large number of reputable speakers as well as renowned personalities coming from politics, economy, and science, met in the course of the 1st BioEnergy Conference in Velden in order to discuss the future of bioenergy.

The conference’s highlights included (i.a.) some outstanding speeches by Dr. Leo Schrattenholzer, Head of the Environmentally Compatible Energy Strategies at the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Austria,; Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. Hermann Egger, Member of th eBoard of KELAG, Austria, Ing. Reinhard Koch, Managing Director, European Centre of Renewable Energy Güssing, Austria as well as the following discussion about the financing of Bioenergy Investments with the leading bank managers of Austria.
